WSOP 2009

The 2009 WSOP

WSOP 2009 was the fortieth time the event had been held. The big one to become the poker world champion attracted 6,494 entries which was about 400 less than 2008, this generated a prize pool of a shade over $61 million. Following the success of the 2008 experiment, once again the final table will be delayed until November 2009. The reasoning being that this will generate more excitement and allow each players background to be investigated and therefore making the final tabble of the 2009 WSOP the largest event in poker history.

The following nine players will return to Las Vegas on the 9th November.

Seat 1: Darvin Moon - 58,930,000
